> > APPEARANCE: {'medium-hair' pale pale ginger "chinchilla" with medium-brown eyes}
> items used: n/a
Echo has a semi-long coat of soft pale cream fur that lightens to nearly white at her paws, muzzle, and belly, but darkens back to ginger in a small spot of tabby stripes on her forehead. Her small triangular nose is light pink, as are her paw pads. Her eyes are a light, nutty brown color and often hold a wistful look.
Her body shape is bulkier than usual, and she was originally designated as a home-guard, but chose to challenge fate and the ancestors' guidance by taking the other path. She uses the greater bulk she has compared to other prey-hunters to her advantage, targeting larger or more rowdy prey such as large ravens and ground quail, at the cost of having to work harder to climb over the many obstacles in the territory. She has rounded cheeks and a less extreme muzzle than most tribe cats, with shorter, more thickly boned limbs and more proportionate ears. Her paws have tufts of fur between her toes, and her ears sport long strands of white fur that seem to meld into the pale fur on the sides of her face.
She speaks in an unusual clip, carrying an accent her family has had since anyone can remember though nobody is sure where it's from or why.

> > PERSONALITY:
{brief; sweet, brave, resourceful, observant, witty, merciful}
Echo is by nature the sort to believe in others and try to understand new outlooks, but if anyone close to her is hurt or her family threatened, she would fight and die in defense of them. While open to relations improving, she will always be looking out for her loved ones first, the innocent second, and the rest of the world third.

Echo is by nature the sort to believe in others and try to understand new outlooks, but if anyone close to her is hurt or her family threatened, she would fight and die in defense of them. While open to relations improving, she will always be looking out for her loved ones first, the innocent second, and the rest of the world third.
As bold as her original destiny of home-guard would make you think she'd be, it is tempered by the keen eyes and nose of a prey-hunter. She is always seeking alternatives- if she misses the prey, how can she use the environment to make a second try?; if they might get stuck or lost, how can she help them escape?- and always keeps her wits about her even in times of great stress and danger.
Loyal and yet merciful, she will be on the lookout to both protect the weak from the strong and protect the strong from themselves.
She has a peculiar sense of humor and often quips her thoughts aloud, though usually doesn't expect an actual response most of the time.
She is somewhat afraid of mediocrity; she secretly desires excitement and to find something of importance beyond normal tribe life to dedicate herself to, though she doesn't really want the Firstspeaker role. No, she feels like there's perhaps something else out there for her.

> > HISTORY:
Echo was named for a wolfcall that had been heard in Stonehome shortly before Screech of Indignant Hawk's kitting; the wolf never got a responding howl, so it was thought to be lost. She was born in a small litter of which only she remained alive after the first night.
> > HISTORY:
Echo was named for a wolfcall that had been heard in Stonehome shortly before Screech of Indignant Hawk's kitting; the wolf never got a responding howl, so it was thought to be lost. She was born in a small litter of which only she remained alive after the first night.
Her father, Bird, was hit by an outdoor monster when she was barely a moon old, and so she never knew him. According to her mother, he must have been alone and afraid when it happened. She knows him in the memory of others as a hard-working cat, often busy with this or that and determined to provide the best he could for his family and the tribe, even if it meant doing something insane.
Young enough when it happened to not be too affected by it, Echo had a mostly normal childhood, though she never felt like she would make a good home-guard. The older she grew, the more she felt drawn to the thrill of traveling and hunting- mostly the traveling, if she was honest. In a fairly rare instance, Echo spoke to Firstspeaker, and changed her fate-given role.
She had a youthful romance with Mouse, a home-guard who didn't entirely appreciate her sense of wanderlust, but who hasn't begrudged her as their feelings mellowed out over time. They remained friendly.
Echo is still looking for something, and feels that though she has done well to provide for her tribe and keep her mother company, there's still something to come.
