[ti]Private[/ti]The Day Is Here (Possum Gang & Moonshine)

Over the past moon, Alu had been getting up early in the morning and searching for the right place for she knew her time to go into labor would be here before she knew it. In the end, she decided not to leave the den she lived in with her family and just make it more kit friendly. She dug through the trash bin they called home and removed anything she thought might be dangerous for her soon to be born kits. Once she had removed everything she began to drag cardboard boxes into the den and laying them on top the trash to keep the den clean for her kits. Then she stole twoleg fur she found hanging from strips of bark between houses and carrying it as careful as she could back to their den to keep it clean. It took many trips but eventually, she had the perfect nest for her kits. No twolegs came to this trash bin which was good and meant it was a safe place for her and her kits.

That morning Alu woke up and she just knew the kits would be born that day she had that feeling. Her belly was huge there had to be like a dozen kits inside her ready to be born. She hoped she could do this without any trouble. The sun was high in the sky it had to be about noon when she finally went into labor. She opened her mouth and yowled to let her family know. It was the signal she had come up with this way no matter where they were if they were a few allies down or sleeping up on the roof or hunting or whatever they would hopefully hear her warning yowl. "IT'S TIME, THEY'RE COOOOOOOOOMIIIIIIIIIIING!"

It all seemed to go so fast, there was a great amount of pain but before she knew it the first kit was born. She began to lick the kit and soon she heard her cries as she took her first breath. She purred and nuzzled her towards her belly to allow her to suckle. Alu's first born kit as a girl and she was beautiful."[/b] She nuzzled her softly her eyes half closed as she purred.

Debris had tried her best to help Alu set up her nest, but there was only so much one could do while recovering from almost freezing to death and without the knowledge of what could and could not go in a nest for kits. She'd offered many random cans or shiny wrappers, along with an extensive list of increasingly ridiculous name ideas, before finally leaving it to the queen herself.

That didn't stop her from rushing to the she-cat's side at the sound of her call. Debris hobbled over with pricked ears. They had mostly escaped the frostbite that had taken her tail-tip, and there were only a few small crimps around the edges. Most of her paw-pads were sore, but one of her hind paws was the only one that still had blisters on it. Debris ignored the effect of her snowstorm disaster as she excitedly approached Aluminum Foil from the other side of the alley.

By the time she sat by the other she-cat's side, the first kit had already arrived. She stared with eyes full of wonder. "Oh, it's so cute!" she whispered. She held her breath for a few moments, then tipped her head and asked, "Have... have you got any more? There's supposed to be more than one, isn't there?"
At the first small motion from the kit, she forgot her impatience and leaned down to lightly touch it.
"Oh! What's she called?"

Alu's ears twitched as she heard someone approaching. But when she saw the familiar face of Debris she purred softly which was cut off and turned into a gasp as the pains started once more. She closed her eyes wishing Paper Towel was here at her side. Her sides quivered and a second kit was born. She panted lightly and began to lick the kit. Soon he was wailing as well and she nuzzled him softly and gave him a nudge to her belly. She returned her gaze back to Debris for a moment. "Yes there are more inside me and will be born over time I believe. I'll think of names with Paper Towel and yes they are adorable aren't they."

Casting her purple and blue eyes about she looked for Paper Towel. Where was he? What was taking him so long to return to her? Was he so far he hadn't heard her call? Did something happen to him? Most likely he was carrying food back for her or something. She decided to give another yowl and hoped PT would hear it this time. "PAAAAAAPEERRR TOOOOOOOW..." Alu gasped cutting off her call for her mate as pain once more filled her body.

Paper Towel trotted through the alley, an eager grin stuck on his face. He was not sure what it was, but something told him that today was going to be special. Of course, he was not sure what exactly would be special about today, but he just knew...something. After all, the giant sky-koi had seemed very excited the night before, and it took quite a bit to interest the ancient fish. 
"PAAAAAAPEERRR...."
The tomcat froze, falling flat on his face as he heard his name being yowled. 
Alu!
Scrambling to his paws, Paper Towel started booking it towards the dens that he shared with his family.  It had not even occurred to him that his mate's call could have something to do with the kittens that she was expecting. All he knew was that something was happening, and his mate needed him. 
"Alu!I'mherewhat'shappenningareyouhurt?!"
He ran into the den, nearly trampling his still injured sister. He stopped, staring in wonderment at the sight before him. Two perfect little kittens, a she-kit and a tom, were snuggled softly at Aluminum Foil's side. 
"They are...ohmykoiAlutheyarebeautiful!"
He carefully stepped around them so that he could lay beside his mate. Although he did not know much about kitting, as he had never....kitted, he could see that there were still more kittens waiting to be born. 
"You can do it, Ibelieveinyou!"

Alu was panting slightly when Paper Towel finally showed up. She purred softly. "It hurts but no I am not hurt." Alu was so happy to have her mate with her. She purred as he spoke loving how excited his voice sounded. She had grown so used to the way he spoke when he was like this she could understand him completely now.

Before she knew it the next kit was coming. Alu, let out a cry as their third kit was born. She barely had time to clean the kit before the fourth kit soon followed by the fifth and sixth kit. By the time her last kit was born she felt so weak and could barely lift her head to lick her kit. She gave a rough purr as she looked at all her kits. Her eyes were slightly glazed as she turned to look at Paper Plate. "What do you think we should name them Paper Towel?" Alu fought to stay awake long enough to name her kits. As her head dropped her eyes landed on her third born. She didn't know why but he reminded her of her mate though they looked nothing alike. Just a newborn and he already had a curious but confused look on his face making her chuckle softly. "Let's name this one Paper Plate," She brushed her tail down her third sons back.

Moonshine, hearing the yowls, knew the best thing was to leave her be and instead headed out to go and get some hot food and blankets for the new queen. The giant feline dragged it back along with a brown sac, before laying it a taillength away and in Aluminum Foil's reach.

"They're beautiful. Congratulations." The color point mewed before taking a seat a bit away, to listen for their names but also give what she assumed was wanted distance.


One of the kittens, a oddly colored chocolate and tan tom with white stripes... A bald tail... And absolutely giant, round ears was yowling to the air with a chittering noise, unsure if he wanted to eat or sleep or maybe just test out his voice.

Paper Towel slowly sat up, careful not to disturb his absolutely exhausted mate. Looking over her side, he looked over each of his newborn kittens, marveling at every little ear, tail, and toe-bean. There were six new lives; two precious she-kits, and four wonderful toms. It was almost a perfect reverse of himself and his littermates, with four she-kits, one tom, and one...Stink. Close enough! 
"What do you think we should name them Paper Towel?"
The joy-filled tomcat tilted his head, looking intently from one kitten to another. 
"How about...Egg Shell for that one," he mewed, gently brushing the back of the tabby kitten. "And the other girl could be...Plastic Wrap!"
He looked at his mate, hoping that she would enjoy his ideas of names.
"Let's name this one Paper Plate,"
Paper Towel nodded, looking at the little kit that his mate was referring to. His tiny body was covered in thick grey fluff, save for his naked tail. 
Weird....I like it.
Meanwhile, he heard his other naked-tailed son was making his presence very known, letting out a series of mewls. 
"I saw a wrapper once, anditwasallyellowandstuff. And...itmadenoiselikethiskittenismakingnoise so let's call him Butterfinger."

Aluminum Foil smiled tiredly as her mate looked down at their kits. When he suggested Egg Shell and Plastic Wrap for their daughters her smile grew bigger causing her to purr. "They're perfect." As her other son with the naked tail began to wail she wrapped her tail around him and purred softly hoping to soothe him. When Paper Towel suggested Butterfinger for him she nodded. She had no idea what it was but if her mate thought it fit him then that is what they would call him. That left two more kits to be named. Licking a brown tom with white on his muzzle she nodded her head. "How about Soda Can for this little guy" Alu then turned her gaze to the one kit without a name. She blinked at the white and black kit. "I think Soy Sauce would be a good name for him. What....what dooo you think Paper Towel?" She yawned and laid her head back down on her front paws. She felt so tired and now that all her kits were named as long as Paper Towel agreed with them then she could finally rest.

Paper Plate could hear one of his many siblings screaming and he couldn't figure out why. He began to mew trying to calm his sibling down. He began to squirm trying to find his squealing sibling. But instead of getting closer to his sibling he was squirming farther from his mom and siblings. When he no longer felt the warmth from them he gave a scared squeal and began to cry himself.

The newly born Egg Shell laid nuzzled against her mother's warm belly moving her tiny paws, against her mother's belly as she nursed. She thinks she found her favorite spot to nurse. She was sure she keeps going to this spot to nurse again. Once she was sure she was full, she gave a small yawn and meowed a little before she moved closer to her mother's belly.
