[ti]Private[/ti]Final time in our home?

Smoke that fills night Sky, sat at the opening of the mother-kits den as she already moved there. She is however annoyed that she can't be there helping the tribe looking for prey with those darn creatures scaring all the prey away. They are moving even closer. They are just a day or so away now till they where close enough that the tribe would have no choice but to be forced to move from their home. 

Of course, she knew it was best for her and Ruby's unborn kits for her not to be out there, but it didn't mean she had to like it. The other thing she didn't like, and she had to often find herself,  having to compermise to her mate Ruby to have at least two or three bites of prey he gives her. There was no way she was going to let him starve to death by not eating any bites of prey. 

She is still a bit thin thanks to that loud creature scaring all the prey, but her side was still slightly swallon with kits, and growing more swollen. It wasn't as noticed as her den mate Diamond's is, but it was still not hard to tell she is too if you look or know she was. She has alraedy started thinking maybe she felt movement from them but she wasn't so sure on that. 

She tries to comfort her mate, as she knew he was worried for the tribe and of course her and their kits.

Ruby Lost in Stones was, to put bluntly, worried. The monsters had been scaring away everything, and food was getting less and less available. The terror was filling his usually calm heart with panic, and now the worry of his mate and their kits only added to it. Padding into the mother's den, it was late at night and he had finished up his last patrol. Of course he brought her something to eat, but there wasn't enough for even one cat. So, he just laid it down silently, a melancholy look dimming his usually bright green gaze, and stared out of the den.

There was a few new cuts on his paws, and a wound from clear glass driving into his foot as he tried to get food near the monsters had ended up with the injury. Laying on his side with his back pressed against her, he lapped at it blankly.

In any other time, he would have loved to be a father... but not right now. It wasn't going to be fair for the kits, or safe. Cats spoke of a journey, and any trip could lead to Smoke kitting on the way. And newborns were much too fragile to move. The thought of them all getting killed... the cinnamon tom suddenly shivered.

Smoke gave a small sad face when she noticed it wasn't even enough for one cat, and so she couldn't offer her mate to have at least one or two bites of it with her. She finished a scrap of prey quickly. She licked her lips clean and turned her face, and noticed the cuts on her mate.

She grew worried, she moved some and licked his back a few times. If she had a choice she would have maybe waited until after their journey that everyone was talking about to have kits. But there was no going back now.

She noticed her mate shiver and lifted her head. "What's wrong?" she meowed gently. The concern all over her face.

[Mama]

Feeling her tongue go over his back, he gave a sigh as he glanced towards her, paw overturned. "I'm just worried, Smoke. What if we don't figure this out? Or, find ourselves a home? Where will the kittens go? And, what if they don't get enough to eat?" Ruby muttered, his words lingering with anger at the whole situation and ending with a deep sigh. "Our Tribe... we aren't even sure if we can make it. And more mouths will only make it harder. What if.. What if our own blood turns against us?"

The thoughts swirled like the rapids in his head, and he laid down before putting his paws over his face. Claws lightly nicked at his fur, his tail whipping back and forth. There was just so much going on, and so little he could do... his public and private joy was diminishing and as the creatures churned outside, what felt like a neverending headache from the noise nagged him.

Smoke nodded her head, she understood her mate's worry. She tried licking him again, as trying to comfort him. "I'm sure we will find another home. As to when I'm not sure...." she meowed, her worry showing at the end. Since she knew if it took a long enough time, there was a chance that their kits would be born during this journey.

She let herself wrap around her mate. Though a bit of her worry as well, she wanted to try and be a bit positive and be there for her mate.

Her warmth comforted him, and his gaze lingered at his paws before he nodded and rested his head down. He needed to get rest, if they were to find any last prey here. His tail flicked for a moment longer, and he placed his head on her neck before sighing into her smoky fur. He didn't want to leave... but their home was becoming trash, food for the eagles. There wasn't enough left for them, and who knows how much longer they could last off rationed food.

"Goodnight, Smoke." The cinnamon tom softly mewed, giving a small cough of frosty air, before melting into her pelt. At least they had each other, and she was so much warmer then himself. His little pelt was not helpful in these temperatures, and without her he'd be kept awake with shivers.
