(just a heads up, this is before Owl's death!)

He'd been thrilled and planning their little date night for a few days now. It took a while, but Goldeneyes was able to match his schedule with his mate's and decided to set it up. Everything was in place! The organized tom had already set up as many flowers as he could find in the winter months, picking new blossoms too, finding a rather gorgeous spot where they could Stargaze together and the rush of the melting river provided a soft background noise.

Waiting in camp for Maplespring to finish his last patrol, Goldeneyes had made a visable effort to make his fur as neat as it could be, and even found a little stalk of lilies to gift to him. They were set next to him, nearly getting hit by his excited twitching tail.

The tabby red patched tom trotted through the entrance to IvyClan’s camp at the head of his patrol, a thrush in his jaws. He smiled over his thrush at his mate, and quickly went over to drop it in the prey pile then trotted over to Goldeneyes.

Upon walking closer Maplespring realized the taller tom’s fur was neater than usual. A breathy laugh escaped from his lungs, “Why, hello, handsome.” He purred. “You make me feel bad, I just got back from a patrol!” He laughed again, his hazel eyes squinting together. Maplespring did wish he had had time to fix his fur at least a little bit. Patrols always messed up everyone’s fur.

As the scent of a patrol creeped into camp, energy pulsed through his veins as he could see a dark ginger feline lead the way in. He almost felt like a kitten, or at least an apprentice, with the excitement brought just at the sight of his mate. "You know I don't mind it, and I only groomed mine because I had a break inbetween patrols." The tom chuckled, before leaning down and pressing his cheek against his for a moment in a greeting. Then, he pulled away, scent and heat still lingering on his face.

"Oh, I got you something!" Goldeneyes mewed with a toothy grin, before leaning over to his side where the flowers were. One had wilted just a tad bit from the snow, but otherwise they were bright and merry. Pulling the stalk out, he carefully set it at the other's paws. "I hope you like it, it took me a while to find anything that even compared to your beauty!" He added, followed by almost a cheesy smirk. "So, should we get going?"
