There was nothing quite like the wonderful smell of Newleaf to put some invigoration into the blood. Duskypetal loved the smells of the waking world, even if some of the flower pollen caused him to sneeze something fierce. As fun as Leafbare could be with the fluffy snow and the chill in the air, it always brightened everyone's spirits when the ground was soft once more and leaves began to bud once more on the trees.
And this time, he had more of an excuse than ever to go on a good old-fashioned ramble.
"Come on, Roundpaw - it's not that difficult to keep up, right?" He cajoled, although truth be told the smaller-yet-older tom was having a much easier time taking the lead than he thought possible. He remembered being an apprentice, all that time ago, when it felt like his fur was electric and he could have flown after the birds he chased.
"Smell that, won't you? I want you to tell me what you smell!" Being on a border, it was a fairly important place to search for scents, after all.
