Scorpio paced back and forth in the corner of the park until his hind leg started to twitch, then sat to lick his wounds. The cuts were just over half a moon old now, and some had even closed up, but he still felt those MothClan claws against his pelt every time he moved. They had all fought hard that day. Their matched strength in battle was why the clan cats had taken their kit from Scorpio, but not his life.
As the tom finished his grooming, he stood up and looked around. Some of Amaris's League were hanging around, and it was the first time he'd seen so many of them together in one place. This was as good a time as any to give a speech, he decided. Between trying to vain to keep hold of the three ex-clan kits and trying, also in vain, to find a safer home for the Alliance, he hadn't had much time to reflect on everything that had happened. The Alliance itself was just Spire and him now, as far as he could tell.
"Alright, everyone. Enough with this park nonsense. The Anti-Clan Alliance is going back to the Rotting Den, tomorrow. We're still on the lookout for Fidget, Strike seems to have left on his own, and I'm sure you all know what happened with Fatkit. There's no longer any reason to think we're any safer here than we are there."
He waited for a protest, but there was none. At least not right that moment. Nobody seemed to care either way.
"Speaking of clanners, I'm tired of them getting the better of us. This past Leaf-bare has weakened them considerably, from what I can tell." Which is good, or we wouldn't stand a chance. "We can continue to chip away at their numbers, and maybe our next strike can do more damage, but we need to be smart about this. Just killing them off one by one isn't going to do it anymore. I encourage everyone to think of strategic ways to do this."
The loss of the kits had left him down, yes, but that didn't mean he would slow his pace. He just had to do things differently for now, until he could built the Alliance up again. "And as always, we need more allies, so let me know if you find anyone that might be interested."
Scorpio nodded, as if to reaffirm his point, then turned to leave. A voice chimed in behind him, "What's an ally?"
Scorpio completed the circle to face the reddish-brown cat that had spoken. He'd assumed she was one of the League cats, and he had no idea how long she had been there. Up close, she looked far more like a kittypet. A very grubby kittypet. Scorpio flicked an ear. "An ally is a cat that helps you with your goals, while you help that cat back."
"Oh, like a friend, or family! Can I be one? I'm really good at it."
The ginger tom narrowed his eyes. Hurting clanners was one thing, but putting an unsuspecting outsider in the path of danger wasn't his style. "Ah, well... maybe you should just go back to your Twolegs. I can help you find them, if you need me to."
The she-cat, Debris, tipped her head. "My Twolegs? Oh! No, I don't have Twolegs. Well, I mean, I do have two legs-- I have four legs-- but I don't have Housefolk. I live in a box by a dumpster." She smiled brightly.
Scorpio stared silently for a few moments, then nodded. "Alright, I'm sure I can find something for you to help with. Do you want to come back with us to the Rotting Den?"

"Oh, um... sure!"
