[ti]Open[/ti]Walking in a Winter Wonderland

A silvery young she-cat proudly strides through the snowy park, purring softly as the pretty white flakes of snow fall across her pelt. Her fur doesn’t offer that much protection from the cold, but Storm doesn’t plan on being out for very long. Storm just wanted to see the snow, and she felt like she needed to get out of the house every now and again. Storm didn’t mind spending time with Benny or her siblings, but for as much as she loves her mother, Swift was just a little bit… much sometimes.

The small cat is having a bit of trouble wading through the winter wonderland, but she has a little smile on her face. While Storm had wandered away from the paths and routes most often used by housefolk, in her delight she is absolutely oblivious to her surroundings.

The town was not an area that Whiskey particularly enjoyed. It was too crowded for him - the aging tom far more used to the space that the farm he lived on provided. This didn't stop him from visiting the area, though. No - if his business took him there, then he'd wander over without a complaint. After all, it wasn't like he'd be staying among the streets packed with twolegs and loud noises indefinitely, was it?

Somehow, Whiskey had managed to lose Tequila. The two of them were attempting to investigate some stories of a rather nasty cat terrorising the local kittypets but the younger of the two had just wandered off. Typical Tequila. The rogue was going to get himself into some nasty trouble one day and, thanks to his apparent insatiable desire to face danger alone, Whiskey wasn't going to be there to rescue him.

He was grumbling under his breath about the uselessness of his partner when- Oh. Was that a kitten? Maybe just a little too old for that actually - but still, a young cat. Now what was she doing out here all on her own, hm?

"Howdy there, darling!" Whiskey called out to the other cat, wanting to ensure his presence was know so that he wouldn't scare her so much. "Don't you worry now - I'm not here to hurt you. What are you doing out here all alone, huh?"

Storm’s snowy daydreams were suddenly shattered by an unfamiliar voice cutting through the cold. The silver she-cat turns towards the voice; upon spotting Whiskey, Storm waves her tail in greeting. Not once did she seem afraid, even before the other cat followed up his greeting with a reassurance that he was not here to harm her. Little innocent Storm had yet to meet any unfriendly cats, so she saw no reason to fear strangers.

“Hi!” She calls back in response as she starts to pick her way through the snow towards the older tom. “I was just admiring the snow. It’s very pretty, and I’ve never seen snow before.” She purrs with a sweet smile. “I’ve never seen you around before; my name is Storm, what’s yours?” Once she gets a little closer, she takes a moment to look over this new cat. He looks…. Well he’s old. Far older than any other cat that Storm has ever met. And his fur…. It’s so long. Storm is used to her family members, and her mother was the only one of them with long, downy fur while the rest had short pelts. Overall, though, Whiskey looks far different than any cat that Storm has ever met. Intriguing.

While Tequila did wander off often, it was usually for good reason. He'd found a loner that had a bit of useful information for the nasty rascal they'd been trying to hunt down, and he was quite good at following his partner's scent trail. It wasn't long before he caught up to Whiskey, and found a little kit talking to him.

"Well this ol' fella here's name is Whiskey," He mused in his honey soaked tone, peering down with bright eyes at the young cat that stood in the fluffy snow before them. "And you can call me Tequila," The tome purred, whiskers twitching in amusement when he noticed how much trouble the little anklebiter was having. He leaned down on his front paws, so his face was level with the kit, shoulders a bit bunched up due to the awkward position. "If ya want ta see the snow, hop on up here. You'll be able ta see it a lot better, doncha think?" He hummed, his accent just as apparent as his partner in crimes. "Wouldn't want yer purty fur to get all soaked either, do we sweetheart?"

Ah, and there was his missing deputy. Whiskey watched in amusement as his companion and best friend immediately began talking with the kit. That rogue was just a big, old softie at heart, wasn't he?

"Where'd ya live, hm?" The old tom asked as he also peered down at the kit. Hopefully she hadn't wandered too far from home. Of course, they'd return her if she had - after all, they weren't heartless, were they? - but it would certainly be a little irritating to have to stray from their path. Oh well; if a kit was in trouble, everything else could wait.

This was all assuming that Storm had somewhere to live, anyway. She looked like a well cared for kittypet but you never knew these days. Maybe she'd been recently abandoned, or maybe her momma just taught her how to clean herself well. If that was the case, well, he and Tequila would just have to take the little thing home - right?

"This friendly fella and I are just gonna take you home now, alright kiddo? Can't have a sweet kit like you out here alone, can we?"
