     Wolfpaw padded along the smooth floor of the camp, their icy blue eyes glinting with excitement. Today... I will make a friend today. Wolfpaw was a confident, bold young cat with a passion for the warrior life, however, they often came on to strong when it came to making friends. The kits in the nursery always thought they were too loud or too rough, but that was just who Wolfie was. Wolfpaw flicked their long tail and sniffed around the current area, watching as various cats passed by. Wolfpaw had always felt like they had to prove themself due to the rogue blood they had gotten from their father, but in truth, nobody cared but them. However, their biggest insecurity was their gender, as it was not typical amongst the clan and they often felt alone. They had the need for validation from those they respected. Wolfpaw yawned with wide jaws, awaiting a potential friend to walk by.

     It had been a rough night spent tossing and turning. Sleep evading her grasp in whatever means she took to steal its embrace. But there was so much restlessness she could tolerate before she gave up. Ferntooth had taken out early that morning. Before the sun had even been given the chance to rise. Leaf-bare was bitter cold, the gust of wind like raking claws down her pelt. ...

    She had stayed out until the later morning, only coming back to camp when she could tolerate the cold no longer. Returning from wandering the territory with exhaustion ever present in her sage green eyes. Her paws were heavy as she passed the roaring falls. Eager to go back to her nest, and perhaps, give her much sought after sleep another try.

     As Wolfpaw scanned the area for other cats, a certain fluffy silver warrior came into view. Wolfie wasn't sure they knew this one. The child slowly approached the cat, attempting to put on a subdued appearance so as not to put the cat off, which they often did. Wolfpaw smiled softly as they approached the female, they realized that she didn't look, well, happy. Maybe Wolfpaw could change that! They increased their pace as they approached the unfamiliar one stepping up beside her. "Hello! I'm Wolfpaw, I don't believe we've met. I'm an apprentice, you're a warrior right?" They blinked with large, curious blue eyes. The fiery spark in them glowed with an intense blaze that could be seen from afar. The apprentice continued to pad alongside the she-cat, looking over her with many questions in mind. 

[Mama]

Fallenpaw had finally woken up, sleeping in as he stayed up way too late to stargaze. Making a little grunt, the tom pawed his face before opening his eyes with a large yawn. With a puff of his fur and a shake of his pelt, the tom got to his paws and eventually padded out of the den.

The first thing he saw was another apprentice named Wolfpaw and a warrior, his ears perking up for a moment before deciding to leave them. However, his eyes brightened more when he saw a large moss ball outside of the nursery. It was practically chanting his name! With a kit like giggle, the ginger apprentice raced over and tackled the pall with his paws. Fallenpaw rolled over once or twice, the ball in his jaws before he ended up with his legs in the air, and his paws around the ball as he nipped it happily with his teeth.

    Just as she could picture the softness of her den, imagining how good it would feel to sink into its embrace. The voice of an older apprentice forced her attention. An introduction lacing her ears as hazy narrowed eyes fought to meet the source of the sound. With a sidelong glance, her attention settled on a lightly colored tabby she-cat. Bounding along at her side with a sickly sweet sparkle in her eyes. And as the words that had been spoken registered in her exhausted mind, she had to bite her tongue in order to save herself from lashing out at the younger cat. "Yes. I'm a warrior." Ferntooth said pointedly. Attention sweeping back towards the sleeping area that she would be working her way towards. Apprentice or not.

        With a sigh, she'd offer the younger she-cat another look before drawing her voice to speak. "Shouldn't you be with your mentor? Or err..." a flash of movement would cause her to pause, as she witnessed another apprentice playing with some scrap of moss. Something she thought that he was way too old to be doing. What is this clan coming to? "How about another apprentice. He looks bored." Fertooth said, motioning to Fallenpaw just a little ways away. "You two could go hunting for the elders. I'm sure Daisytail would be really appreciative." The older she-cat would finish. Sage green gaze settling on Wolfpaw before her.

     When the she-cat responded, Wolfpaw gave a small frown. Here was another cat deflecting their friendly approach. Wolfpaw looked up at the warrior with their brilliant blue eyes for half a second before responding: “Yes, I’m a great hunter! I’ll show you what I catch when I get back. Goodbye!” The bengal slipped off in the opposite direction, bounding towards the other apprentice. They were pretty sure his name was Fallenpaw. “Hey! It’s me. I’m Wolfpaw, if you didn’t know. Anyway, that warrior over there,” Wolfpaw flicked their tail towards the grey she-cat, “has challenged us to a hunting competition! We have to go hunting for the elders, whoever gets the least has to make the other’s bed for a week. Plus, the winner gets bragging rights.” Wolfpaw smiled with a fiery glint in their eye as they challenged Fallenpaw. 

[Mama]

Fallenpaw tugged at the moss with a growl, before another cat padded towards him. It was another apprentice named Wolfpaw, as she introduced. Craning his head towards the warrior, he looked back towards the feline quickly. "Sure!" The tom quickly agreed, bouncing up to his feet with a puff of his chest. 'This'll be fun! Maybe I can make a new friend with them, and make the elders happy!' He thought eagerly, a goofy grin pressed on his face. "Let's go!"

    And though, she could see the minor disappointment to the apprentice's expression. Obviously, she wasn't too tore up over the suggestion. Excitement still beamed on her voice as she bid her farewell. Promising to show off their catches whenever she and the young tom returned to camp. May they stay out all afternoon. She silently played, but would encourage the pale tabby with a firm nod. Watching her lope off towards Fallenpaw.

        Ferntooth perked her ears in the direction of the apprentices, listening to them with her last ounce of energy. Wolfpaw decided to make it a competition, which was fine by the older she-cat. Whatever motivated them to pull their own weight. Regardless, Fallenpaw accepted, rising to his paws to get started. And that was all she needed to see. With a tired yawn, Ferntooth would push her way into the warrior's sleeping quarters, and to the bed that she had just previously fought not too long ago. But this time, she would welcome its embrace. Looking forward to catching some much needed rest.

     Wolfpaw's face lifted with excitement when the other bubbly apprentice accepted their preposition. Wolfpaw raced out of the camp alongside the Fallenpaw, their pawsteps pounding the ground beside their friend. Wolfpaw let out a coo of content when they felt the wind against their face, rustling through their soft, light bengal fur. Wolfpaw's thick paws crushed the foliage underfoot as they ran deeper into the heart of Mistclan territory. 
     The Bengal child skidded to a halt when they got deep enough into the territory, icy eyes shimmering as they turned to the apprentice beside them. "So, where to?" Wolfpaw was not as familiar with the territory as they would liked to have been, so they turned to their opponent for help.

Dark ebony paws carried the large tom as he found himself moving away from the river's edge. Earlier that morning Ravenwing had made plans to catch a few small fish that would help build up the fresh kill pile for those who were fond of the fishy taste of, well, fish. Much to the warrior's distaste, however, the spot in which he preferred fishing had been frozen over today. Plus, as he had debated whether to break the ice or not, the tom had simply come to the conclusion that he would also rather prefer not to pull ice stuck in the fur on his paws. Alas, the only solution to his problem was to instead check for any invaders and return to camp. The task he was finishing right now as Ravenwing came into view of the waterfall that covered the Mistclan camp. And that was where he spotted the two apprentices slipping out of camp and dive into the woods behind. Close enough to pull one of them as Wolfpaw, Nightfur's apprentice.

But his friend didn't follow the two out of the camp, and a kit-like curiosity to see what the duo was up to drew his paws forwards into the treeline. Starclan, he really wasn't fond of the trees, but the ebony tom found himself following the two at a distance until they finally drew to a stop. Ravenwing ceased as well, a little bit more out of breath than the younger even were. But thank Starclan that Wolfpaw was not as fast as their mentor for he would of surely lost the duo.

"what are ya'll up to..?" he finally huffed, pelt rising and falling as he caught his breath. He wasn't angry, no. Just simply curious. "Nightfur or Shrikeheart send you out on a patrol? Or perhaps this could be you guy's a-" 'assessment.' he caught himself from finishing the words. These two were still two young for their assessments, and even if they were, their mentors could be surprising them instead.
