It was a rather dreary day outside. It was a bit warmer than it had been the past few sunrises, but that just meant it was raining instead of snowing. It was strange being a warrior, she thought. It meant she had much more free time on her paws. She'd already gone on a dawn patrol today, so her afternoon was freed up. Once the downpour started to let up into a light drizzle, she peeked outside of the entrance to Mistclan camp, and slipped out, undetected by the rest of her clanmates. She picked her way across the stepping stones, careful not to slip on the muddy bank on the other side. She had a plan for today, you see. The last time she was in that forest of her dreams, she had scented Mothclan. It wasn't Lionkit this time, so it must be someone else? At least, she assumed. She figured that with Mothclan's insane amount of border patrols, she could hide out there and catch a whiff as they passed by, maybe she'd figure out who it was.
So she made her way to the meadow.
There weren't many places to hide out there, so she spent some time sniffing around the brush, marking the border here and there to appear as if that's what she was here for. There was a bit of sparse forest on the Mothclan side, which she peered at safely from beyond the border. She blinked the rain from her fern green eyes, dark, shadowy tabby pelt providing a bit of contrast against the grey atmosphere that the world was currently enveloped in. She glanced at the trees, how high up they went. She wondered if she should risk crossing the border to climb up one of them, would that be going too far? She wanted to know which living cats also went there, but not THAT badly. She shook her head. Even if Tansy wanted to, there was no way she could make it up the smooth bark when it was slick with rain. With a sigh, she lashed her tail in a silent show of frustration, and continued sniffing along the border.
