[M'Lady]

She flicked an ear. Ah, she was right then. Based on those markings, she'd make a guess that this she-cat used to be part of Ivyclan, the clan famous for their gorgeous diversity when it came to pelts. She glanced down at her own pelt, the shadowy tabby fur with stripes barely darker than the fur surrounding them. She wondered where her father was from, she certainly did't inherit his golden pelt of fur. She glanced up when the warrior spoke again, Rainflight, as Tansy was now learning. Rainflight. She wondered where the name came from, Rain for the silvery beauty of her fur, she assumed. Flight though, that was a mystery. She wondered if she would ever find out.

"M'name's Tansysong," She spoke quietly, green eyes flickering towards the ground. "It's.." What was she supposed to say next? That it was nice to meet an enemy from another clan? Someone she might have to face in battle in the future? She didn't know what to say at all. "It's nice, talkin' to a Mothclan cat fer once. I didn' know y'could be so..." Cordial? Friendly? Interesting? What to do, what to say? She fumbled for words, and was a bit flustered when she couldn't find any. "It's just nice."

Tansysong. An interesting name, no doubt. Rainflight couldn't help but wonder where Song came from. Her voice, perhaps? Maybe. Probably because of her way of speaking. She had an interesting way of speaking, though she had to admit she kind of liked it. It was different.

As Tansysong continued speaking, she tried - and failed - to stifle a trill of laughter. "Just nice?" she chuckled. "Well, thanks then. I guess it must be nice talking to someone of MothClan, eh? Especially me. A strong warrior of MothClan, committed to the clan completely." She flashed the young warrior a smile. Now, if only Mothstar had seen how committed she was. Maybe then he would have made her deputy. The tip of her tail flicked slightly at the thought, but she soon pushed all thoughts away. Now was not the time to think of that.

"I must admit it is nice to talk to someone of MistClan. I never paid them much attention, even while in IvyClan. They were just someone who was always...there." She observed Tansysong for a moment. "Looks like I was missing out."

Tansysong smiled sheepishly as Rainflight took her words and then responded with an exclamation of Mothclan pride. A soft laugh escaped her throat, as she proclaimed just how strong of a warrior she was to her clan. Oh my, she was certainly a funny one. She didn't know Mothclan cats could be funny, it showed what a narrow minded view she had anyway.

If cats doomed to walk the place of No Stars could be nice, why couldn't Mothclan warriors be nice too?

When she looked Tansy up and down though, and made that comment the Mistclan warrior certainly wasn't expecting... Well, she wasn't expecting it. Her eyes widened slightly, and she felt her ears grow hot with embarrassment, as she quickly ducked her head down to hide the look on her face. It took her a moment, but she glanced back up at Rainflight with bashful green eyes and a small flustered smile on her face.

"Now 'ow exactly am I supposed ta be y'enemy when y'say things like that?" She spoke softly, her green eyes flickering towards the ground once again. "You're still missin' out, there are plenty a Mistclan cats that are more interesting than me," She shrugged at this, more resigned than sad about it. "Like m'brother, Finchtongue. Everyone adores 'im."

Rainflight lifted her head in her pride at making the MistClan warrior act that way. She waited for Tansysong to recover, and her own smile grew upon seeing her flustered little smile. The sight sent something through her, but she ignored it.

She hummed at Tansysong's words. Seeing her look resigned about this...Her eyes narrowed slightly, but they still held a warm feeling to them. "Mmm..No, I think you're more interesting than any other cat in MistClan. I may not have seen much, but I'm not sure I need to." She paused, flushing slightly. Where were these words even coming from? Just a few days ago, she was sure she'd never say anything like that to anyone. Much less a MistClan cat. Speaking of which, she had to make sure she wasn't too friendly with Tansysong. She couldn't break the warrior code, after all.

"Let everyone else adore Finchtongue. I'm sure he's not half as interesting to talk to and see."

Wow, what was Rainflight even doing to her? Tansysong was positive, she'd never felt this flustered in her entire life. What in Starclan was wrong with her? At her words, though, the she-cat felt a bright grin come to her face. Despite the fact she was talking with a Mothclan warrior. Despite the fact they were forced to remain on different sides of this scent line. She felt warm all over, is this what Finch felt like all the time? She loved her brother, but he seemed to always be in the spotlight. With Meteor, with their denmates, even in the Dark Forest. Not that Tansy was complaining about that, but it was always him.

Always.

Except for this time.

"Thank you," She spoke quietly, still smiling even though that was all that she could say. She suddenly rose her gaze, green eyes startlingly bright. "There's no one like y'in Mistclan," Tansy told her, her mood suddenly falling as she said this. Mistclan. Her home, her family, her blood, her duty. She shouldn't be talking to this cat, this warrior from another clan. "I... Should go." She confessed. She tensed her muscles to stand up and leave, but soon found that she couldn't. She didn't want to, at all. Tansy paused, a frown flickering on her features. "Even if I can't seem to leave."

Rainflight liked seeing Tansysong smile. It was an observation that rather shocked her. She'd always stayed away from cats of other clans. It was why she didn't pay much attention to MistClan before now. She didn't want to risk getting too friendly with someone of a rival clan. But this...maybe this wouldn't be too bad? She didn't want to leave this. Whatever this even was.

She chuckled lightly as Tansysong spoke. But when she said she should go, her smile seemed to drop. While she knew they should both go back to their own clans before a patrol or something came up, she liked talking to the MistClan warrior. She watched as she tried to leave, only to see that she couldn't. She couldn't help the small laugh that escaped her.

"Can't leave, hm? Then stay. There's no harm in talking to someone of another clan, is there?" There was. There absolutely was, but she was going to ignore that. She wanted to make this last a little longer.

[M'Lady]

"Y'tell me." She joked weakly, though she lifted her head slightly at Rainflight's laugh. Did cats always sound that happy, that warm, when they laughed? She never really noticed it before. It couldn't be good, what she was feeling here. It couldn't be good because... It felt, really good. And she wasn't supposed to have those feelings with an enemy, a warrior she was sure would be across from her on the battlefield in the future.

Tansysong shuffled her paws.

"Can I ask y'a question?" She hummed, not waiting for an answer before she continued. "Why did y'decide ta go to Mothclan?" Tansy asked, lifting her fern green gaze. "Wasn' Ivy y'home? Weren' y'scared?" She spoke softly, digging her claws into the soft earth beneath them. Did she feel apart from her own clan, like Tansy did? Did she feel guilty about going behind the backs of the cats that raised her? She wanted to know, oh desperately did she want to know, if what she was doing was the right thing because she felt like it was.

Rainflight smiled as Tansysong joked. She really hoped nothing bad of this was to happen. There was harm in doing this, but maybe it wouldn't turn out so bad. If the two clans got into a fight, she'd just hope Tansysong wouldn't be in it. Or herself. And if they both were, well, she just wouldn't attack her.

As Tansysong spoke again, her ears perked up, and she directed her attention once more to her. She blinked in shock at her questions, and could only pause as she tried to think of what to say. "Well..." She sat there for a moment, still trying to think of what to say. Eventually, she took a deep breath and spoke.

"I guess I never really felt right in IvyClan. Sure, it was my home. I had been born there, I had grown up in it. But something just hadn't felt...right, I guess. When I heard there was a new clan being formed, I was curious. I couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to live in a different clan, different from what I had grown up in. I was scared, yeah. But...It was worth it. I wouldn't go back to IvyClan. MothClan is my home now."

She waited patiently as Rainflight seemed to try and gather her words. Tansysong found herself leaning towards the she-cat, eager to hear what she had to say... Or maybe just eager to hear her voice. Slightly embarrassed, she settled back into her seat, fern green eyes flickering towards her paws just as the Mothclan warrior started to speak.

Something... Clicked, about that speech. Changed a couple words, it could probably speak to Tansy just as well as it did to Rainflight. She didn't comment on this, however. Tansysong remained silent on that fact, with a flicker of guilt in her heart. She couldn't leave Mistclan, not with Nightfur and Finchtongue there. They'd be so sad... Wouldn't they? Would they? She found suddenly that she didn't know, when was the last time she'd spent any real time with them? It was her fault, mostly, Tansy usually kept to herself.

"M'glad, then," She spoke softly, curling her tail around her paws. "That y'found a home, I mean. Ever' cat deserves a place where th'feel welcome." Was it strange that that place for her was the place of No Stars? It was, it totally was. But she couldn't help the feeling.

Rainflight hummed. "It is nice to have a home. A place where I feel like I belong, not just some place I was raised in." She observed Tansysong for a moment. She was never all that good at reading others, but there had to be a reason the she-cat had asked. Right? Did she feel like...she didn't belong in MistClan? While thinking, she realized she had lowered her head slightly.

She took a deep breath and looked back up at Tansysong. "What about you?" she asked quietly, unsure if she really wanted to ask. "Do you feel like you don't belong in MistClan?" She couldn't help but wonder if...maybe Tansysong would leave MistClan and come join MothClan. Then maybe all of...this wouldn't feel so bad and against the warrior code.
