"Are you happy in MothClan, Smokegaze?" Littledash asked, hopping from one strange two-leg item to another. The two brothers had ventured out together to, well, just explore really - hence why they were currently clambering over useless scrap. It was an interesting adventure, sure, but the odd items were not what were on the smaller of the two's mind. No, instead he was busy thinking of his brother.

Littledash himself still wasn't too sure of this new clan, but if Smokegaze liked it then he supposed he liked it too. At the end of the day, that was all he wanted - for his brother to be happy - and he certainly seemed to be enjoying their new home, but, just in case...

"I bet MistClan would take us back if you wanted to leave, you know. It would be okay. We're not stuck here if we don't want to be."

Smokegaze

It hadn't even been leaf-bare yet, and you could see and feel the snowy weather coming soon. Smokegaze had joined his brother, Littledash, in a hunt out in the two-leg nonsense piles. He took pride in his clan, even in parts of the territory such as this mess.

"Are you happy in Mothclan, Smokegaze?" Littledash purred.

Am I happy? He thought. "Of course I am." He finally felt at home in a stable clan. Mistclan was never home to Smokegaze as far as he knew. From his parents murder, to the easy dismissal of their murderer, and then to the rebellion against Froststar, it all led to the best thing that could happen: the beginning of Mothclan.

"Mothclan is my home now. Our home. When Mothclan formed, it called for us with open arms when Mistclan practically shoved us away," He meowed, looking his brother in the eyes. "Mothclan is better than Mistclan. Stronger. We will remain strong through this leafbare, I just know it." He puffed up his chest a bit, then grinned widely with squinted eyes. "You'll see."

"I bet MistClan would take us back if you wanted to leave, you know. It would be okay. We're not stuck here if we don't want to be." Littledash purred. Something about him was... peculiar. "Of course I want to be here. Do you not want to, Littledash? Do you not like our new clan?" He felt taken aback by his brother's statement. "If there's something wrong, I can speak to Mothmaw about it and it can be fixed immediately. I wouldn't want my precious brother to be uncomfortable. Tell me, what is wrong?"

"No, no. I'm happy too." Because if Smokegaze was happy, then so was Littledash. That was how it would always be. Maybe he'd rather be back in MistClan, but even if that were true it wouldn't matter. No matter where he was, he would rather be there with his brother than elsewhere and alone.

Littledash was touched that the other would go as far as talk to their new leader if he were unhappy, though. That was very brave of him! Mothmaw was... Well, he was pretty intimidating. He didn't really seem to like Littledash either (though, did he really like anyone?). Smokegaze was so impressive. In fact, Littledash reckoned that he should be leader one day! He'd be brilliant at it!

The smaller warrior hopped back over the scrap, moving to stand next to his brother. "Honestly. I'm fine." He promised as he nuzzled against Smokegaze, purring quietly. "As long as I'm with you, everything is okay. I know that you'll protect me, right? And I'll protect you too, because that's what brothers do. We look after each other because we can't trust anybody else to do the same."
