Hershey
7 Moons | Tom [He/Him]
Currently a Loner.
A rich chocolate brown colored tom with pale olive eyes, he is slim in build and short of fur with a long whip-like tail. His pelt looks somewhat reddish brown in direct light and despite his young age he appears much older given his tall stature. A wiry cat, he walks with all the grace of a newborn deer and has a low rumbling voice that sounds like a perpetual purr. While not bulky or large in the slightest he does easily tower over others of his age group due to his legs which are exceptionally long and his ears add to it with their somewhat higher than normal size. Given this he always looks like he's seconds from bolting, with those alert ears and awkward stance of long legs.
PERSONALITY
Hershey was named such for his coloring but also due to his sweet nature, while he is a kind and compassionate young cat he is also a proud and stubborn one. The concept of a soft life being pampered and locked indoors until his final days never once appealed to him as it did his siblings. Strong-willed and with a determination to try even knowing he might fail, Hershey is a reliable young cat who never breaks a promise and never turns down those in need. His age does nothing to soften his demeanor and he'll happily pit wits with any cat who tries to debate him on a topic he feels strongly about. While not the most articulate of cats, he makes up for it in feeling and is very impulse and instinct driven in nature. Hershey has a habit of acting before thinking and plunging into the fray with little thought, but he's quick on his feet and even quicker of tongue so he generally manages fine with this compulsive behavior.
HISTORY
The high life didn't appeal to him. He knew from a young age that he'd never be happy locked indoors and pampered like a king, he was a cat who loved the sun and the ability to come and go as he pleased. He and his siblings were born for the sole purpose of being kittypets, a fact hammered into him by a dutiful mother who expected only the best behavior from her charges and lacked the warm touch one might expect from a parent.
He didn't even like his name much either, disliked being called something meant for eating and having no other uses.
His kithood was uneventful as he dreaded his future, having already met the two-legs who would take him in by the collar they slipped over his neck, but as fate would have it an opening appeared before him one night and he took it with an eagerness he'd never had before.
A door left ajar by accident saw him wandering out into the backyard of the estate and through a slanted board in the fence, where he would go he was uncertain but he knew living alone was not the most choice of decisions given his age.
It was while wandering he came across a group of cats, older kittypets with collars and the occasional roaming stray, and he listened in on their chatter about feral cats living out in the wild who would rip a kittypet to pieces if they so much as stepped a paw in their territory.
Any other sensible cat would avoid the place like the plague, but after asking around more and investigating this information, Hershey found out that the feral cats lived a lifestyle that most appealed to him. With this in mind he made his way there, following the creek until something caught his eye...
