Storm had slipped out once again; she knows that her father is aware of her ability to slip out of the house undetected, though he is wrapped around her paw and a slave to her every whim. Occasionally one of her sisters will help her escape as well; as far as she knows, her mom has not the slightest idea that Storm slips out of the house with no adult to accompany her. She’s pretty sure that her mom would kill her should she ever find out.

But her mother is the last thing on the young cat’s mind as she scrambles over a small backyard wall. She has had plenty of practice with previous escape attempts down her apartment steps, the climbing posts at home, and other trespassing excursions into other gardens and backyards. Even so, the young kitten struggles to make it over the barrier, landing on her belly panting once she successfully makes it over. She is now in a stranger’s backyard; time to explore.

All I Really Know is Life's too Short

Crow was just having a lazy day today. Not that he mind at least. The lanky tom had just had his noon meal so he was going to go outside and sun himself for awhile. He pushed through the cat door, leading to the backyard, his backyard. He gave a deep breath, smelling the cool, crisp fall air. But he also scented something else... Another cat!

He was alert now, his tail lashing at the thought of another cat just waltzing their way into his place. He carefully searched for the feline and spotted the small white fluff ball just wondering around. He gave a snort as he quickly padded his way over to the small feline, trying to act and look tough.


"And what do you think you're doing in MY territory?" The young tom growl. His dark green eyes narrowed as he looked upon the tiny she-cat that just casually flopped into his yard. No, not today.  It didn't matter if she was smaller or younger than him. The kit was an intruder! And intruders have to be taught a lesson!

Storm’s head comes up at the sound of another cat’s voice. She sits up and licks her pelt down so that it is laying flat. “Sorry but how was I to know that this was your place? It is very nice. Also, I don’t believe I’ve met you. My name is Storm.” She introduces herself, not seeming to take Crow as a threat. She has never met a cat that was willing to attack her before, so that thought doesn’t even cross her mind despite warnings from Benny.

Her little tail wags as she looks up at the older cat. He looks so big and strong. Kind of handsome, really. She has already decided that she likes this cat. She smiles up at him. “It’s nice to meet you,” She waits for his name.

What? The kit wasn't cowarding before him or running away? But that's what she was suppose to do! Not standing there all happy and wagging her tail like a puppy. He gave a scuff, growling silently to himself. It looked so much easier on the human's picture box. Maybe he should swat at her, maybe then she'll take a hint.

The tom quickly raised his paw to strike her, but it ended up being a harmless 'bap' on the top of her head. "I'm Crow..." The young tom grumbled, as he just sat down on his bottom. Ugh, why couldn't he attack her? The fluffball shouldn't even be this....friendly. "Anyway, why are you even here? Shouldn't you be back at your mother side?"

The kitten smiles as she is bapped on the head.This tom seems very friendly to her! “Nice to meet you, Crow.” She repeats politely. “I was just exploring. It’s so booooring at my home. If my mother had her way, me nor my siblings would ever leave our beds. She’s so protective.” Storm complains for a moment before remembering herself and smiling up at Crow yet again. “You live here, right? It’s a nice place. Much better than my home; we don’t have a..” she gestures at the backyard with her tail, not quite sure if there is a proper word to describe a backyard or garden. “A big outside place to play.” She finishes.

The young tom cat was half listening to Storm as she spouted on about her mom not letting her explore or whatever. He was glad he was old enough to not have a mother hen of a mother anymore. "There is a reason she is like that. There are other cats and critters that won't hesitate to attack or even kill you. No matter how young or small you are...." Crow mumbled with a flick of his tail. Yep, just like on his humans picture box or young animals falling prey to much bigger animals. It was the same participle here, just on a slightly smaller scale he suppose.

The tiny kit mentioned his yard. It was a bit of a combination. A big, recently mowed yard and off to the upper corner was a decent sized garden that had a few buds growing. "Oh, my folks like to keep a nice yard I suppose. Not suppose to go in the garden but I do. Keeping birds and the pest away." he meowed, actually kinda proud of being a 'guard cat' of sorts.
