Riverpaw padded into the nursery, a freshly caught sparrow hanging from his jaws. He paused at the entrance as two kits tumbled past him, much to the meowed concern of their mother. Setting the sparrow down, Riverpaw licked his muzzle. "Figured I would see if any cat was feeling particularly hungry." He offered, nudging the bird forward with his snout. The queen nodded her acceptance, digging in.

She seemed a little tired, like she would love to devour this one meal in peace. Sure, every queen loved their kits, but a whole litter could be tiring. Especially with the recent change of scenery. The journey had taken its toll on every tribe- er- clan member, with many losing weight and or sustaining minor injuries either from the trip or from their old camp's destruction. It was no surprise to him that the queens and kits had taken a small hit as well. Though they were always amongst the first fed, the queens still looked a bit skinnier than they should, especially with the milk they should have been able to produce for their bountiful litters.

Tying the tiresome and stressful commute to this new land in with the constant work of being a parent, Riverpaw felt a twinge of sympathy for the queen as she chewed another still warm morsel. The large smoke grey tom eyed the last remaining kit, a fluffy ball of tabby fur who mewed at its mother's legs, looking to play. "Morningkit, right? Want to go play outside?" Riverpaw said suddenly, glancing at the queen to get permission first. Her blink of tired relief was the only signal he needed. "I could use a battle buddy..." He trailed off suggestively, peering down at her in challenge.

Smokenight has had her paws full today, with her three kits. Somehow the three kits Echokit the only tom kit and Sunkit and Morningkit the two she-kits seem to have a lot of energy today. While Smokenight just wants to have a meal and catch a nap today. Thankful though, at the kit's age as it does sad her at the same time, they be apprentices in just a few moons as their now four moons of age.

She lifted her head, when she heard someone come in and nodded in thank you to Riverpaw when he gave the prey off. She chewed into it, and sighed when she saw two of Morningkit's siblings run out of the nursery and into camp to play. While Morningkit however, meowed at her paws wanting to play. She noticed the apprentice ask if it was alright and she nodded her permission.

Morningkit meowing at her mother's paw wanting to play turned her head when she heard her name being called from Riverpaw. She nodded her head when he asked if her name was right that he called her. She turned to her mother to see if it was alright to go when her mother said it was fine. She rushed out of the nursery when she noticed Riverpaw looking down at her as a challenge and rushed out without hardly waiting for the apprentice to follow her out.

"Coming!?" Morningkit called back to the apprentice once she was outside the nursery and into camp.

Riverpaw took a step back as the ball of fluff called Morningkit darted past him, already out of the nursery and calling for him from the camp. With a look to the kit's mother as if to say, "Kits, am I right?" Riverpaw strode out after her. "Well, alright, I didn't know this was a race. You're gonna lose a claw galloping about like that." He teased, circling the little kit. "So, what'll it be today? You're the mouse and I'm the big scary prey hunter?" Riverpaw circled her once more, paws careful and sure, his mischievous face low and close to hers. "Or are you a nice juicy rabbit for my dinner?" He mused, tail flicking playfully and lightly behind him.
