Terrifying yellow eyes glittered through the green undergrowth as a massive deputy observed the battle training of an apprentice not too far from his warrior ceremony. His tail waved behind him as he stood tall behind a bush large enough to cover him. Wolfclaw raised an eyebrow as he observed, shaking his head at the apprentice's actions. It was concerning. The young tom, as loveable as he was, seemed to have no attention span whatsoever. He showed potential, sure, but he got distracted way too easily.

Watching the poor mentor try to teach Cricketpaw the jump and pin, the large tom sighed. It was a complicated move, sure, though a cat this far in apprenticeship would usually be experienced enough to learn it. Shaking his head, the massive tom sprung from the bushes, landing in the clearing. Facing the two, Wolfclaw padded towards them with firm steps, his tail waving behind him. He spoke, his voice firm, like thunder; "Hello, Cricketpaw. Nightface."

His striking gaze met the eyes of the much, much smaller tom. "Here, let me show you, Cricketpaw." he said, looking at Nightface to make sure he was okay with him taking over for just a little bit. Beckoning the warrior, Wolfclaw walked towards the closest tree and first made sure Nightface was okay with him practicing this on him before he executed the move.

With precise steps, the massive tom's strong legs propelled him. He leapt backwards, his large paws hitting the tree and bouncing off and, with precise accuracy, he landed on Nighface, or at least where he would be, depending on whether or not the warrior would move. Sometimes those he trained with moved when it came to this moves or moves like it, as to avoid the large tom actually landing on them.

Straightening himself out as he rose back to his full height, the muscular deputy nodded to the mentor before his eyes fell on Cricketpaw once again.

Wow! Wolfclaw was great at sneaking up on others! Cricketpaw hadn't even noticed him approaching! The second the new deputy began talking to him, the apprentice began to practically vibrate with excitement. He couldn't believe that he was getting the attention of Wolfclaw. This guy was basically the strongest warrior in the clan - maybe even the entire forest - and therefore his attention was a precious thing.

Oh! And he was going to show him how to do this move! Brilliant! Cricketpaw had been trying to master this particular action for a few days now but just couldn't seem to get it. Jump and pin - it sounded so easy. It wasn't though - or, at least, it wasn't to a cat with such a limited attention span. The apprentice's inability to concentrate was an unfortunate thing. Without it, he'd probably be a brilliant warrior. That wasn't saying that he couldn't still be a good warrior, though. No, Cricketpaw could probably manage something great one day, were he to work hard for it.

His excitement only grew as Wolfclaw executed the move perfectly. Amazing! He'd sure shown Nightface! Wow, Wolfclaw was quickly becoming Cricketpaw's hero. Sure, they hadn't actually spoken much, but the giant warrior had already left an outstanding impression.

"How did you get so good?" Cricketpaw asked, eagerly rushing closer to Wolfclaw. "Did- Did StarClan bless you with super strength or something? Can you do any move? Can you show me something else, please? Do you know any secret attacks? I bet you do! You look like you do!"

Wolfclaw listened with a slight amusement in his terrifying yellow gaze as he stared down at Cricketpaw as he seemed to bubble over with excitement, rushing forward and questions flooding from his mouth as he spoke with eager and quick words. Unsheathed claws kneaded the soft, dark dirt ground of the training clearing. Attempting to answer, the massive deputy released a soft sigh. "By training hard." he said, responding to the first inquiry.

With a chuckle almost escaping his maw, the male shook his head. "I don't believe so..." he said, a bit of amusement in his deep and thundering voice. At the apprentice's request for another executed move, he nodded in assent. "Hm... I suppose I could show you the... Knock and pin.". It was a move that Wolfclaw had come up with himself while training with his mentor during the younger stages of his life, and was known in the Clan to be his. While it proved to be an easy move to himself, others might find it harder to execute than some others. It required brute strength and speed.

Beckoning for Nightface to come forward, the muscular tom gave the smaller tom a slight warning look before beginning the move.

Releasing a soft growl, Wolfclaw rushed forward with precise steps and, using his massive size and strength, he knocked into Nightface with a muscular shoulder, which would knock the warrior onto the ground before the long-furred deputy would proceed to pin the dark mentor, finishing the move.
