Silvermist had left her kits in the care of her friend Snowstorm. Her kits were a few days old and she knew she shouldn't be leaving them but she just needed to be alone for a minute. She needed time to mourn Lionburr properly, and until now she hadn't been allowed to because she had been to worried about her unborn kits would react to her sadness and depression. And than when they were born she couldn't bring herself to leave them for a couple days. Even now she wanted to turn around and just run back to her kits. But she knew if she was going to be of any use to her kits she needed to mourn and just cry it out letting out everything she had kept locked away inside and just let it out.
She found a quiet place near the border of Ivyclan. Sitting down she stared up at the sky and let the tears flow. The tears started slow and quiet and soon turned into sobs as she began to cry harder. She even let out a couple of whimpers. She wanted to just yowl loudly but she didn't want to bring any attention to her if anyone was out on a patrol. If she had maybe what was about to happen wouldn't of happened.
Maplefire fled Ivyclan territory with blood splattered all over his, his paws and muzzle were particularly covered in blood. Who's blood you ask? He had just come from killing Heronstar... well taking one of her lives anyway. Turning to look behind him to see if he was being chased he didn't see Silvermist sitting across the border quietly crying. Thankfully no one was chasing him but as he turned to look ahead he just barely noticed Silvermist before her barreled into her. The two tumbled over each other away from the border. "Fox-dung," he cursed as he stood up and looked at Silvermist. "What are you doing here? Why aren't you with your kits," Maplefire hissed angrily.
Silvermist let out a gasp of shock as someone hit her sending her tumbling backwards. When she finally stopped tumbling she found herself tangled with another cat and the scent of blood and Ivyclan cat completely chocking her making her gag. Looking up her eyes grew large as she realized it was Maplefire. Her jaw dropped with disbelief, she had watched him grow up, they had been in the medicine cats den together when he had broken his leg and she had been sick with whitecough. At his question she shook her head and stood up and glared at him. "I'm aloud to take a break, but that's not what matters. What have you been doing Maplefire? Who's blood is that you're covered in? You're coming with me and you're going to explain to me and Dogstar why you're covered in blood. And why you smell so strongly of Ivyclan. There is enough blood on you...." realization hit her and she took a step away. He had killed someone. There was to much blood for that cat to still be alive.
Maplefire hissed this couldn't of turned out worse. Why did Silvermist have to be here. He was killing cats that were week and were basically useless. Cat's that made Mistclan weaker. Silvermist made the clan stronger by bringing in more kits to the clan. Her kits were only a few days old and would prefer not to kill her. But when she mentioned taking him to Dogstar and explaining what happened to him. He knew he didn't have any other choice. When Maplefire saw realization hit her he took that chance to attack her. He reared up on his hind paws and raked his claws over her eyes and muzzle. She was clumsy and heavy with milk so she didn't stand a chance against him. Maplefire easily knocked her over on her side and raked her belly viciously with his claws.
Silvermist didn't have a chance to react, Maplefire attacked her so quickly all she could do was cry out in pain as his claws went over her eyes. She couldn't see, what had he done to her? What was wrong with her eyes? Next thing she knew she was being flipped over her sighed. She let out a yowl of pain as he began to pummel her belly. She whimpered wishing she had stayed with her kits. "P-P-Please," she moaned in pain and the tom continued to tear her to pieces. She could feel her lifeblood flowing out of her body. "Stormkit... Mistykit.......... Br-Brackenk-k-kit................... L-Lionk-k-kit." She chocked out her kits names putting every once of love she had in their names hoping it would reach her kits somehow. The last thing that crossed her mine was Lionburr. She was going to see him sooner than she thought. Taking in one last ragged breath she went limp and breathed no more.
Maplefire stopped when he realized she was dying. He heard her call out to her kits. When she drew her last breath he roughly grabbed Silvermist's body and threw it haphazardly across his back and carried her across the boarder where he dropped her under a bush just on the side of Ivyclans border. Once he had dumped her body he padded back across the border and walked over to a stream and began to clean the blood off his body. He made sure to get every last drop of blood out of his fur. Even rolling in the freezing cold stream to get it off his back. Once done he grabbed a large chunk of moss and soaked it in the spring before returning to the place he had killed Silvermist to clean up any blood left behind. He needed to make it look like Ivyclan had killed her. And to do that there couldn't be any blood trails or blood spatters. Maplefire was surprised no one had come when Silvermist had cried out, no one must have been in the area which was good luck to him. Once done he did some hunting and caught a couple of mice before heading back to camp. If anyone asked why he was so wet he would say he fell in a spring trying to catch a vole.
