 When Chloe's folks had found him, he had been in a middle of a seizure, foam around his mouth, and body convulsing. He had been small and filthy and skinny. The poorest shape he had ever experienced. Once he was done and too tired to fight them, they had taken him straight to a vet's office who diagnosed him.
 He had stayed over night, taking medication and being healed. He stayed two days there and once he had been deemed healthy enough (he was reacting to people now) they had allowed him to go to his new home.

 Which was where he was now, wrapped in a warm blanket in front of the fire place. When he opened his bright blue eyes, he was met with the folks watching tv and a... hairless cat? He also realized he had a... a... collar is what they called it, around his neck. He didn't mind it too much, as a kitten he had worn it. He shifted, gazing about the room curiously, particularly the sphynx.

She was still unsure of why her house folk were still so fascinated with the strange light-sound box, but she still laid with them on the arm of their big soft rock, purring lightly as the male house folk scratched and rubbed her on her neck. She had one eye closed in enjoyment, but she fixated the other gently on the bundle in front of the firebox. She hadn't been truly aware of who he was, but she did recognize the scent of the kitten as the scent that came home on her housefolk's removable fur. Earlier she had gone to approach, but she was quickly shooed away for he had been sleeping. Since that moment, she waited, one eye on the other cat, for him to wake.

And now was that time. Chloe tensed up as she saw him move and his eyes open, glancing curiously around the room. Chloe smiled lightly, scratching her claws on the soft-rock arm before hopping down to meet him, name tags clicking against each other. "Hi there!" she purred, trotting up and gently poking her head forwards to sniff the bundle. "Oh my Wednesday, I thought you were gonna sleep forever! The housefolk brought you here and you stank of the cutter. It's a terrifying place and they stab you with long, sharp sticks some times and others they make you feel better. Is a strange thing! But are you okay did something hurt you? What's your name? Do you have a home? Other than this one, of course. My housefolk gave you a collar too so that means your home now is here, but before that? If you're lost I can help you find your way home because I'm pretty good at navigating myself around here. But you look awfully hungry, though! Before anything, you've to get some energy in ya! Sure, dry kibble is good, but you ever tried salmon though? Tonight's Salmon Sunday you just have to try it! If you stick around, tomorrow at dinner time is mackerel! Funny word, but is delicious! And breakfast; I can't wait to see what they make! I'm sure I'll be extra special because you're here! C'mon, I'll show you the nest if you wanna look around! I'm sure the housefolk won't mind, right housefolk? See! Look at them point the small light box.. When they do that and make those funny noises it means that I've done something good! I'm sure they don't mind.. C'mon let's to get some Salmon!! And what's your name, Spanky?" she rambled, hardly pausing to breath nor allow the kitten to get anything out to say. And they said Siamese talked a lot.

The tom had opened his mouth many times to get a word in, but the sphynx continued to jabber. Once he realised he wouldn't be getting anything in for a bit, he settled down and patiently waited for her to stop her rambling. He already liked her, she seemed like a nice cat. And the housefolk too, with their funny ways of praising. He didn't quite know if it was praising because they were focused on something else, but whatever. Oh. Was she done?

"Well... at the... cutter? I heard them repeat the word Darragh while pointing at me and on the way here the female housefolk held me and said Darragh repeatedly so... I think my new name is Darragh!" He spoke, deciding to test his legs. He stood on jelly legs, wobbling a bit. "No... nothing hurt me. And my home is far from here. After i started doing this weird shaky thing, it took my breath away every time too, they dropped me off near here... I thought they were going to come back but I guess not." He shrugged, shaking off a paw as he let the blanket slide off of his malnourished frame. "Uh... food would be nice, miss!" He purred, eyes brightening already. "If you don't mind me asking what's your name?" He quickly questioned, taking a step forward to peer around the corner to the lit up kitchen. Oooh. A new room!

Chloe listened intently, tail twitching. Darragh, so that was the name they settled with? "Darragh, Darragh.." she meowed a couple of times to get the feeling for the name. "Darragh.. It suits you, Spanky!" the sphynx finally confirmed, giving him a brief nod. She didn't know exactly what sort of 'shaky thing' that Darragh was talking about, but she was still curious as she imagined what exactly had happened. She did let out a gasp at mentioning he had been left and at the skinny frame that clung to him. "Fish bowl! You poor little scrap! What kind of house folk did you have leaving you like that?! And you must be starving! I can promise that my house folk won't leave you. They certainly wouldn't do that, would you, house folk? no, I didn't think so! Chloe, I Chloe by the way! I thought I had said it before but appearently I forgot. I still can't believe you were just left there. It's sick, cruel, just totally unfair!! Nuh uh, I ain't taking you nowhere not back there; right here is where you belong! I can't even imagine how some housefolk could be so mean I still have a hard time believing it! No cat has lived until they've had Tuna Tuesday! Oh, yeah! I almost forgot.. Of course I'll get you some food, you poor little scrap! After all, you ever had Salmon Sunday?" she didn't even have to gasp for breath before she took a few quick steps forwards, following the kitten into the kitchen. Thank the weekdays that the housefolk knew she wouldn't eat out of the second bowl that was set down a little ways from hers. She had been quick enough to figure that it belonged to him, so she would pad across the floor and over to Darragh's bowl.

"This is yours! My hollow rock is over there, see it has my name on it, 'Chloe!' Or at least that's what the house folk say. I couldn't understand those weird squiggles even if I tried to. I'm sure that means these say 'Darragh' than! They really do like that name, huh? But I don't blame them, it does suit you I mean you do just look like a Darragh! That's certainly not a name for a calico, huh? I've actually never seen a calico named Darragh not just because you're the first Darragh I've met, but because I haven't seen a male calico yet!! Some of the neighborhood cats say that they're extremely rare and that they're sent from the stars themselves! I mean, I don't understand what they mean by stars because I watch them every night and they never seem to move so surely they can't be living, so obviously they can't send anything. Hopefully one day I'll see one! That would be really cool, huh Darragh? You and I can keep watch for one. Maybe one will move into the neighborhood and we can ask him what it's like to of met the stars!" she paused, licking her drying mouth. "Excuse me," she hummed before bounding over to her bowls, licking up some water to wet her throat. It had been so long since she had had a conversation with somebody for this long without them just leaving her or telling her to simply stop rambing along and along.

The sphynx lifted her head up, licking the water droplets off her whiskers as she trod back over to the young boy. "But yea, that's Salmon, doesn't it smell good? I think I like tuna the best I'm sure you'll just love Tuna Tuesday when it comes up! Did you know that the cat that lives next door doesn't have Tuna Tuesday? Or not even Flounder Friday! They just eat the same, dry pellets all day every day. You're lucky, Darragh! Had you of been one nest down you too could be eating nothing but dry pellets, yuck. I mean, some are actually really good and they taste tasty when I eat it throughout the day, but oh weekend! I can't imagine eating nothing but it! Could you? Doesn't that Salmon taste so good? And than there's the stray cats who eat nothing but crowfood out of the silver boulders ad green boulders. Now that is disgusting! Sometimes I can get something really tasty off of the food stone or even out of the silver boulder, but only when is jus added. Those strays eat them days after while flies and maggots and days eat them. I mean can you imagine eating after rats? Rats! even the word is disgusting! And eating maggots? No thank you; Is almost as disgusting as a hairball! I haven't had a hairball before.. I don't think is possible! What do you think, Spanky? Maybe I could get a sweater ball, haha!. I heard some wild cats actually eat rats! And birds and mice and.. Yuck I can't even imagine! Squirrels they eat squirrels! I don't know how they can kill such adorable little critters! And that's why I just love Trout Thursday and Mackerel Monday! Now the salmon, how is it do you like it? Isn't it just one of the best things you've ever tasted, Spanky?"

Chloe talked a lot, but Darragh didn't mind. When the sweater wearing cat gestured to the... hollow stone, he stepped towards it, sniffing at the wet food. Instantly, his glands were drowned by the delicious smelling feed and he stuck out his tough tongue to lap at it. Holy Wednseday that tasted good! He paused, realising that, even with the little amount of time he had spent here, he had already picked up on Chloe's peculiar speech. He shrugged, tucking his paws beneath him so he could savor and chow down on the soft salmon flavored feast, listening to Chloe talk his ear off about calicos and stars and his name.

Oh. She paused? He looked at her worriedly before realizing she was just getting a drink. Oh so that's where the water was! He licked his chops before continuing to eat, listening to her jabber on about other cats eating habits. Mice? He had eaten one before, caught by his mother, when he was even smaller than he was now. Dry food? He had also had that, fed to him by his old housefolk. He had eaten it everyday and that couldn't compare to this right now. This wet food tasted amazing.

"Yes, it is by far the tastiest thing I've ever tasted." He was pretty well programmed to answer only one question at a time if they were spread that far apart. He licked the bowl clean before turning to lap at the water near by. "Say, Chloe, could you show me around? If this is my new home, I'd like to know where everything is." He asked with a smile, allowing the older to continue her excited jabbering and show him around. He flicked his tail, feeling much better now that he had eaten.

"Of course it's the most delicious thing you've tasted! It's salmon for Sunday's sake!" she purred, slightly nudging him. Surely she wasn't meaning to go on such rants, but she was merely excited. She hadn't shared her nest since she lived with her queen and littermates all those moons ago, and now she was finally able to show the ropes to this youngin. It was like training a prodigy to follow in her footsteps. Before she even knew it Darragh was finished eating. Boy did time fly when you were speaking nonsense. "I'd love to show you around!" Her paws tingled in excitement. "This den here is the good room! Is the food room; sounds good, eh? The female housefolk usually does most of the food making over on the heat pad or in one of the heat boxes. When the put stuff in the little heat box it doesn't take real long, but the big one has stuff In there for ages! But you gotta smell it it smells so good. And over there is the cold box and the housefolk put some types of food in there before they put it in the heat boxes or on the hot pad. Up on the top is a good place to sleep; I'll go up there and snooze when I don't wanna be bothered. Looking over the edge makes you feel like the queen—or king in your case—of the world! Not even the fence is as high as the cold box! I mean, you could always climb a tree, but than some cats get stuck up there and their housefolk have to bring some strange, silver, tall thing and they climb that to grab you. No thank you; I'll stick to fences and cold boxes!" with each object spoken about she took the pleasure of pointing towards and identifying it. "And over here," she hummed, twisting around to face a large platform surrounded by smaller ones. "This here is the Food Stone! The things that the big heat box is in and the little heat box and hot pad is on is also a food stone, but this one is the best one! Some nights they have so much food that they can't possibly eat all of it, so what do they do? They give us some! I'll have to teach you the best ways to have them give you some—some ways work better than others while others they get mad and don't give you any. Sometimes is tricky to figure out what they want you to do!" Chloe licked her lips at the thoughts. As you could probably tell by now, she was a highly food motivated cat. "And get this! Just a few days ago, actually, they made a giant bird! Like there's birds on the window, right? Think that, but huge! Like, twenty of them! They had so much food! But that's not all the food stone is good at; look at this! The trunks are perfect for when your claws just itch to be scratched!" she grinned, trodding proudly over towards one of the trunks, rubbing against the wood and around the leg in a circle. "C'mon! Give it a scratch!" while he did so—if he chose to, that was,—, she would wander off, looking for something cool to show Darragh before they left this den. What was there... Ah yes! How could she almost forget! Was right in front of her!

"And this! This right here is the cat flap! You see that?" she hummed, flapping the plastic with a paw multiple times in amusement, looking back over her shoulder. "This leads to our little piece of territory! You wanna see it? C'mon, les' go!" and she slipped out, breathing in the fresh air and feeling her paws press on the soft, springy grass with a rumbling purr.

Heat pad, little heat box, big heat box, and the cold box. As she pointed to each one, Dar would take a step towards them in fascination. Food, food, food! He knew he'd never go hungry again! He smiled happily, following her to the food stone for the humans. "Woah!" He said as she spoke about the giant Bird, fascinated. A giant bird... he had never even heard of such a thing! Oh, scratching post? He trotted over to where she instructed and gladly sharpened his claws on them, not having the chance to do so in a while.

Outside. His nose twitched and he followed after her outside, taking in the fresh scents. The grass felt great under his paws, but the bitter night air was nipping to him, even with his thick kitten fur. He smiled, looking around before getting that sinking feeling in his chest. "Uh oh..." He uttered before his head was thrown back, body tensing as he concluded. He struggled to stay upright, claws digging into the earth as he started to lose control over his muscles, moving about before toppling over where he seizures, desperate and quiet mrrows of distress escaping him. It was short though, the medication proving it was working and pretty soon he fell limp, heaving for air. He licked the spit from around his mouth and stood on wobbly legs, swaying back and forth. "Sorry... Chloe. I think I'm okay now." He stuttered, dizzy as he swayed back and forth. It wasn't as bad as they usually were and he was glad that the Twolegs had found him. They were helping him.

As yes, the great outdoors! There was so much here that she could talk about! "Flowers and leaves and fences! Soft rocks and stars! Neighbor cats! There's so many cool cats that like next to us and near us! They have their own little patch of territory like we do! Some of them look similar and some look different. I find that so cool, like some nests even have different fences than mine! Some are white and others are brown and some are harder to walk on than this one but that's okay because I like this one... I think I'm pretty good a t walking on fences! Have you ever walked on one before? It takes a bit to learn to really balance yourself, but after you get the hang of it than it's really easy! Wow, I have so many things that I have to teach you! And this is hardly the nest! It gets so much better! There's so many places to climb and sleep! I love to sleep on soft rocks! Especially out here! I like to sit on this one over here and watch the stars until the nice housefolk call me in to go to sleep. I'll have to show you the stars tonight they are just soooo pretty.. I wonder of male calicos really do come from them? If so, I really want to meet one now and see what is like in the stars!" she paused for a moment, jogging a few steps forwards and hopping onto the soft rock. "Is really nice up here, why don't you- HOLY Fish Bowl!" her voice came as a screech, eyes growing wide in terror. What was wring, was he okay??

"Darragh, Darragh!" Chloe gasped. The housefolk wern't here, what was happening? For once she was speechless! Should she go fetch the housefolk? But she didn't want to just leave him! But yet...!

But she didn't have to do anything as his convulses grew shorter and he began to regain control over his body. She however, seemed to of lost it as she stood there jaw slack. What had happened? Chloe had never seen such a thing before and she hadn't even known something like that was even possible! "Dar- Darragh! Are you okay what was that are you hurt? Do I need to fetch the housefolk I'm sure they'll know whats wrong they know the answer to everything! Was it the salmon? I'm sure the salmon would never do that! Oh, Wednesday are you alright?"

"No no. Chloe, it was just that shaky thing I was talking about... I'm okay, the salmon hasn't betrayed me!" Darragh purred happily, tail flicking. "You don't need to fetch the housefolk either... why don't you tell me about those stars?" He said, stumbling over to the fence but still managing to boost his small body up onto it. Woah. It was so nice up here! A few houses down he could see another kittypet laying on the fence, ignoring his appearance and Chloe's cries.

"Its so amazing up here!" Dar said, fluffy tail flicking as he stared up at the sky, fur fluffing up to battle the cold.

Chloe hesitated. The shaky thing was that? She hadn't known it was something more than just shaking his pelt out or flinging drops of water off of a paw. He was quick to change the subject, dancing around it with a request for her to talk about her stars. The sphynx smiled lightly, following him over to the fence and hopping onto it. "They're beautiful," she hummed, tilting her head back to gaze into the sky. "You know why I like them so much? They never change. Every night the same stars are in the same place; I can always rely on them!" obviously some stars were only seasonal, but she was no astronomer. "If you look hard enough, sometimes you can make pictures out of them! See, look at the big bird in the sky! There's the head, the wing, the beak...!" she sat there, flailing with her paw and pointing out stars in the sky. Her stars, but she supposed she could share.
