Clearstream could have been stone, he sat more still than a corpse. His eyes bore into the starlit lake in front of him as he lay on a warm stone; whenever he wasn’t directly interacting with another StarClan cat, usually Ashlark, he could alway been found keeping up his vigil. He doesn’t want to miss a thing; he might not of been able to meet his little nieces and nephew, but that sure doesn’t mean that he can’t watch over them from up here. It’s probably for the best anyways; Clearstream can’t imagine kits ever taking to him.

Currently, his gaze is fixed on little Storm, who looked much more like his killer than her mother though the similarities didn’t really bother Clearstream. Swiftcloud loved Storm, and so Clear did too. She is romping around in snow with… a couple of loners or other kittypets? Huh. Kittypet life sure does seem really strange, but it seems to suit Swift and most of her litter. For once, Swift has actually found a good tom too; that’s… never happened before. Clearstream just hopes that she won’t run poor Benny off.

The starry pelted tom’s ears perked at the sound of pawsteps approaching him. After that first dunk in the river by Ashlark, Clearstream has been careful about zoning out too hard. His fluff doesn’t go well with water.

Ashlark was, in the very least, absolutely overjoyed. Well, it wasn't FANTASTIC that Whitecliff had died almost as early as she had, by the sickness that she herself had predicted, but her brother was here and healthy with her, and that was all she could've asked for. She had been the one to guide him to Starclan, and when he got there, she had tackled him right over into the fields of emerald grass, and their laughs echoed through the angelic territory. Oh she had missed him, and he had missed her. They were inseparable as kits and they'd been inseparable since they'd been reunited. She had given him the grand tour of her favorite spots, promptly dragging him around just as he'd expected. But, he didn't really mind. It was strange talking so much again after two moons of barely a word, but the two chattered away like starlings.

It was the first time since her brother had joined her that Ashlark thought it'd be a good idea to go and bother Clearstream. She knew just where to find him, too.

"C'mon White, it'll be so much fun! You two will get along just swell," She hummed cheerily, and the tom that strode beside her gave a low rumbling laugh. "If you say so," He mused, as they neared a part of Starclan that Ash hadn't shown him yet, his eyes lighting up with recognition when he saw his old clanmate, Clearstream. The tom in question swiveled his ears toward them as they approached, and Whitecliff had to stifle another laugh at this. Cautious. He probably suffered at the paws of his sister while the warrior was still alive. Poor tom. Whitecliff knew all too well the shock of an unwanted dip in the lake.

"Clearstream!" Ashlark shouted, her voice jovial as she approached the tom, bright blue eyes shining. "You know my brother, Whitecliff." She told him, as the white-furred warrior lifted up a matching icy gaze. "Hello," He spoke quietly, his voice deep and smooth compared to Ash's. While hers was the white water rapids of a river, his was more the cool dark lake it emptied into.

Clearstream’s head turns towards the voice calling his name, ah yes, Ashlark. Of course. No other StarClan cat messed with Clearstream; even his old family members left Clearstream to his own devices. Only Ashlark kept coming back, though he hadn’t seen her lately. It wasn’t until his gaze fell upon the young warrior by her side did it dawn on him why. He had made a point to check in on his old clan every now and again, so the illness and Whitecliff’s death wasn’t unknown to Clear. It just took a moment to pop back up in Clear’s head.

Clearstream pulls himself to his paws as he waves his tail in greeting to the both of them. He’s a bit surprised to hear Whitecliff speak, since it’s very unlikely that Whitepaw would have ever spoken to Clearstream in life, it’s very likely this is the first time he’s ever heard the young cat’s voice. “Hello, Whitecliff.” Clearstream replies in his deep monotone voice, greeting his old clanmate with barely any emotion. The older tom would have to be blind to not see the happiness written on both of the cats in front of him, yet he can’t help but feel sorrowful at the deaths of two cats so young. Not that any of that emotion is apparent on his face. “Your voice suits you; you should use it more often.” Clear says simply, before his eyes turn to the troublemaker. What are you planning today, Ashlark?

Whitecliff didn't reply to Clearstream's comment with words, but instead merely dipped his head in brief thanks. Whether it was to his observation or in general gratitude to the warrior, it was unclear. He supposed he owed him a bit, for keeping his mischievous sister busy. If Ashlark hadn't found some new poor soul to torment without Whitecliff being here... Well, it wouldn't have been great for the clans. He didn't really want to know what sort of power his sister had, she seemed to be Starclan's usual messenger. Why they trusted her with that, he would never know. Or understand. She was a menace.

Ashlark must've sensed his thoughts, because his sister shoved him lightly on the shoulder, rewarded by a roll of his eyes. When Clearstream turned to her, most likely to see what she wanted, the she-cat visibly brightened. "Oh! I thought it'd be lovely to go to the meadows today! It's the only part of our territory that they decided to turn into leafbare, so it's covered with such lovely snow!" She sounded so excited, it was impossible to not get excited with her. Even Whitecliff had a grin on his face. "We haven't seen snow since we were kits! It would be so much fun to go check it out! Come along with, it'll be fantastic!" She continued on and on, and though Whitecliff was happy to be with his sister again, he let out a sigh. Oh she got so riled up over the smallest things. Though, he couldn't help his sparkling eyes. It would very much be lovely to go see the snow.

You know, Whitecliff, that’s an excellent question. Clearstream often pondered why Ashlark of all cats was given the task of sending messages to the living. He felt bad for Silverfang and the other medicine cats.

“That would be nice. I assume you wanted me to tag along, since you went to all the trouble to seek me out?” Clearstream’s ears twitch as he responds in his monotone voice, yet… a small smile appears on even Clear’s usually expressionless face. He can’t help it; the two siblings in front of him just seem so happy. Just like he and Swift had been. Though… Swiftcloud never did like the snow or the cold, but leafbare had always suited Clearstream.

“Let’s go then. Just be careful to keep an eye on your brother, Ashlark. Wouldn’t want to lose him in the snow.” A hint of sarcasm hides in his voice, and he flashes a quick look towards Whitecliff, his eyes holding a glimmer of amusement. Then, the larger tom strides by the two, motioning with his big fluffy tail that they should follow if they are going to. He remembers the way to the meadow thanks to Ash pointing it out to him at one point. She was a pretty good tour guide, Clearstream would have to admit. Unlike how he was to start with, Ashlark only has to give a destination and Clear follows along. He’s surprised to admit that he doesn’t mind her company; even more than that, he finds that he actually looks forward to her coming by. He’s missed her since she had stopped visiting.
