It was commonplace to see her here now. Cats whispered of the live cat with fern green eyes, beholden to no one, apprentice to none, who walked the Dark Forest alone. She visited Tanglefur at his log, exchanged news about the living clans and what had been going on while she was gone. She met up with Spottedheart, and pressed him with new inquiries whenever they popped up, and the tom was always glad to answer. She didn't get too close to Scarpelt's angry training exercises, but would sometimes bring him information around gatherings, telling him how his son has been.
Today, she wanted to do something new. She needed more... Allies? Was that the right word? She needed more allies here. She needed to meet more cats, get as much information on Sweetoak as she could, to find a way to take the she-cat down. Finchpaw was the only thing that mattered to her. Her surviving sibling was her one and only concern in life, and she would assume in death as well. She'd never been close to her mother, clingy as she's become, nor to her clan. Fallenpaw was okay, and she missed her father, but that was it. Finchpaw, the poor furball, needed her most. Well, perhaps that wasn't true. It seems that he'd grown closer to Meteorfall than he ever could with her. But, she still needed him, she supposed. And it wasn't like Meteor was any help here, she was just as naive as Finch was.
Tansy sighed softly as she padded through the forest, paw steps muffled by a blanket of pine needles that coated the ground. Though, she suddenly paused in her stroll, pricking her ears as the sound of another cat making their way through the undergrowth caught her attention. Tansypaw held herself up high, as proud as she could be, as she waited for the cat to reveal themselves. She wasn't scared of this place, not by the murderers, not by the psychos, not by Sweetoak, who had her brother in her claws. This cat's scent was new, she could win them over. She hadn't failed yet.
